"Cheer up, Ratboy Genius, I'll see you again. And I will have found a new friend... but also an old one."

--Clyde, Starship Genius 12

Clyde is a supporting character in the Ratboy Genius Dreams Minecraft series and the Starship Genius series.

Biography[]

Starship Genius[]

Before the Storm

Clyde consoles Ratboy Genius moments before the Final Charge.

Clyde first serves as a commander for the Starship Genius, where he facilitates the ship's engines and status [1]. He maintains this job up until the Final Charge, where he is assigned to keep the ship on course for the Thunderbolt while everyone else evacuates. Ratboy Genius worries that he may never see Clyde again once the Final Conflict is over, although Clyde assures him otherwise [2]. Once the Starship travels back in time to create the Minecraft Dimension, Clyde stays in said dimension [3] for an ambiguous period of time before leaving and eventually returning for the events of Dreams Minecraft. Because the speed of Minecraft's timeline does not align with Clyde's home-timeline, the point in time to which he returns is several million years after the timeline's creation, now ruled by Little King John [4].

Dreams Minecraft[]

Clyde first appears in the third episode inside Library Station, where Ratboy Genius arrives. Clyde suggests that the distraught visitor should have a roller coaster ride or two to calm his nerves, and once that is done, Clyde advises him to find the Professor in Stronghold Playground for more information [5]. He later appears playing his keytar in Little King John's castle as the king laments his escaped captive, although he is reprimanded for cheering her on [6].

The Flood[]

While missing during the events of the Great Deluge, Clyde is confirmed not to have lived in the Minecraft Dimension indefinitely, and likely leaves aware of the Deluge before it arrives [4].

Personality[]

Clyde is typically laid back and rarely worries about anyone or anything. He will commonly be seen playing his keytar, even in times of crisis. He likes his king, but is not afraid to defy his orders or help his opponents.
